RDMG Blackcap Essence 7Y Progeny excel at Sydney Royal Angus Feature Breed Show 2019

RDM Angus genetics featured highly at the spectacular 2019 Sydney Royal Angus Feature Breed Show judged by William McLaren from Perth in Scotland, a fourth generation Angus breeder with 32 years in the industry. Tattykeel Blackcap Essence M26, an ET daughter of DMM Blackcap Essence 7Y, was Senior and Grand Champion Female. Two of 7Y’s progeny, M26 and Tattykeel Hudson M3, formed part of the winning Breeders Group from 21 competing studs, and went on to also be awarded the Interbreed Breeders Group under judge, Alastair Day. Congratulations to Tattykeel on their outstanding results.

RDM Angus showed four junior progeny who all placed highly in their classes. Two of DMM Blackcap Essence 7Y’s progeny again stood out, with RDMG Blackcap Essence P2 winning Reserve Calf Champion Female and RDMG Sudden Shock P1 awarded Reserve Calf Champion Bull.

RDM Angus is proud to announce DMM International 54D has joined our list of semen sires. International has just been crowned the 2018 All Breed Champion of the World . His previous successes in the showring included 2017 & 2018 Canadian Show Bull of the Year, Canadian Western Agribition RBC Supreme Grand Champion Bull, Farmfair International Supreme Champion Bull & Angus Champion of the World 2018. By SAV International 2020 out of DMM Blackbird 105A, International combines phenotypical correctness with incredible depth of body and mass, softness and a superb temperament. We will be using International in our 2019/20 AI programme and are excited about what this bull will add to our herd.

RDM exhibited 3 head at the 2017 Royal Adelaide Show. In the Red Angus, T&R Jewel J13 was Grand Champion Red Angus Female. RDMG Red Solo Cup L6 was Grand Champion Red Angus Bull and Supreme Red Angus Exhibit. In the Angus section, T&R Jewel J6was Reserve Champion Senior Female. These 3 are all full siblings sired by DMM Creed 75W x BST Tullatoola Utopia G053. Her heifer calf, RDMG Jewel N8, won the heifer division of the calf competition and overall Champion Calf of Show

Following on from Adelaide Royal success RDM exhibited the same 3 head at Royal Melbourne Show. RDMG Red Solo Cup L6 was Grand Champion Red Angus Bull and Senior Interbreed Champion Bull. T&R Jewel J13 was Grand Champion Red Angus Female and Supreme Red Angus Exhibit, as well as placing 3rd in the Senior Interbreed Female Championship. T&R Jewel J6 was Reserve Senior Champion Angus and Reserve Interbreed Senior Champion Female. Her calf, RDMG Jewel N8 won the heifer division and overall Champion in the Calf Classic

RDM Angus is excited to acquire the Australian semen rights in Boss Lake Bonafide 722E, an outstanding young individual backed with a great pedigree. His sire, SAV Pedigree 4834, sold for a record $750,000 in 2016 Schaff Angus Valley Bull Sale and is considered on of the most attractive fronted bulls bred at SAV in recent years. His dam, HF Echo 206Y, is a magnificent maternal female and one of Boss Lake Genetic’s leading donors, producing a SAV Brilliance son in 2016 that sold for $50,000. While just 12 months old, Boss Lake Bonafide had already won multiple accolades including: Supreme Bull/Stars of Tomorrow – Olds Fall Classic; Supreme Bull/King of the Ring – Lloydminster Stockade; and Supreme Bull Legends of the Fall – Farmfair International 2017. Boss Lake Bonafide exudes extreme power from every angle. He is explosive in the hip, stifle and quarter, tying into a massive barrel, deep heart, with a smooth shoulder and front end. Boss Lake Bonafide 722E sold to Miller Wilson Angus & Lewis Farms at 2017 Power and Perfection Sale at Agribition for the top price of $44,000 (half possession). RDM Angus is proud to have partnered with Tattykeel in showing their first line up of Canadian bred Angus at 2017 Sydney RAS. Tattykeel’s 3 bull entries in the 18-19 months class took out the top three places, with the winner Tattykeel Counter L2 going on to be awarded Reserve Junior Champion. In the group classes, Tattykeel took out Best Pair of Bulls, First in Dams Progeny, Second in Sires Progeny, and Third in Breeders Group. Congratulations to Tattykeel Angus.

RDM Angus took out two Supreme Exhibits at this year’s Sydney Royal. RDMG RED SOLO CUP L6 was Grand Champion Bull and Supreme Exhibit in the Red Angus. Red Solo Cup is a 15 months bull sired by DMM CREED 75W , 2011 Canadian Show Bull of the Year. He weighed 698kg with EMA of 107. RDM Angus took out a second Supreme Exhibit Award with a Brangus Bull in the Other Recognised Breeds Division. RDM EXTRA STYLE 1 (TRH16F1), a 12 months old Brangus bull, weighed 652kg with EMA of 110.

RDM Angus won the prestigious Hordern Perpetual Trophy for Best Interbreed Pair with RDMG RED SOLO CUP L6, and G&K Iseppi’s Cow, GK Red Ruba 26 G40. The Hordern Trophy is contested by the Grand Champion Male and Female of each breed, with the Red Angus pair winning the trophy from 17 breeds on display. Red Solo Cup is a 15 month old bull sired by DMM CREED 75W , 2011 Canadian Show Bull of the Year. He weighed 698 kg with EMA of 107.

Exciting new sire! Semen available April 2017 RDM Angus and Tattykeel Angus are delighted to announce their acquisition of the Australian Rights to MAF First Impression 4420, Canadian Show Bull of the Year 2016. MAF First Impression 4420 is out of MAF Miss Jetstream 2928, a Mogck Angus Show Cow/Donor. His sire, Dameron First Impression, is a bull that blends SAV Brilliance with No.1 ROV ET Dam of Year, Northern Miss 3114.
