Why Canadian Angus genetics? After considerable time in Canada visiting Angus ranches and viewing Canada’s premier livestock exhibitions, we were impressed with the phenotype and carcase attributes that we saw in their cattle. 

The style of Angus we breed are moderate framed, thick made cattle that are easy fleshing and have the ability to be productive across a range of environments, combined with phenotypical soundness and quiet temperaments.

To establish the strong maternal foundations needed to produce consistent and predictable progeny, we’ve worked closely with Miller Wilson Angus in Canada, whose emphasis has always been on “the strength of the momma cow”. Our principal foundation female is DMM Blackcap Essence 7Y, whom we purchased in 2012 at the Farmfair All Breeds Jackpot Sale for $27,000. DMM Blackcap Essence 7Y embodies the maternal attributes we look for, with flawless phenotype and the ability to consistently breed quality progeny. Crowned the Canadian Show Female of the Year and Angus Miss World in 2013, she has also gone on to produce multiple champions throughout Canada and Australia including:-
